Specialization Course in

Between books, reading and art. An approach to Reading Mediation.

This theoretical-practical course proposes an immersion in children's and youth literature and illustration from an artistic and innovative perspective. Through the analysis of the Stories for All collection, participants will explore theoretical approaches to reading mediation, as well as techniques to promote active, critical and reflective reading. We will work on the selection and processing of texts, the role of the mediator and strategies to build meaningful reading spaces.

From idea to book: Introduction to children's and youth literature.

Worlds to tell. Fiction and non-fiction in the LIJ.

Stories for everyone. Assessment and selection of LIJ texts for the development of a reading plan.

Final project: Design of a reading mediation session.

Elena

Montalvo Hernandez

Trainer and cultural disseminator at the UCV Scientific and Cultural Diffusion Center, with extensive experience as a researcher, pedagogical advisor and specialist in children's and youth literature. He has a master's degree in Reading Promotion and Children's Literature from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain and has specializations in children's literature in institutions in Spain, Mexico and Peru. Graduated in Education and with a bachelor's degree in Literature, she has been a teacher, researcher and advisor on educational projects, participating in various academic meetings in Peru, Mexico and Europe.

Carmen

Abanto Square

Italian-Peruvian artistic director, writer and illustrator, creator of La Biblioteca de Matteo and director of the Stories for All collection of the Center for Scientific and Cultural Diffusion of the César Vallejo University. Trained in editorial illustration in Italy, she has a master's degree from the Macerata Academy of Fine Arts. She designs and teaches courses on album books, is a speaker and curator at artistic events, and a coach for illustrators. He participates in the national reading program Nati per Leggere in Italy and collaborates with the Fabrizio Trisi Library.

What are the objectives of the course?

1.Value literature and illustration as key resources to build meaning and promote the reading habit.

4.Design meaningful reading experiences that connect books with the experiences, emotions and memories of the participants.

5.Create didactic activities inspired by fictional texts, which stimulate participation and critical thinking.

Certification
To receive the digital certificate from UCV+ Executive Development Center of the César Vallejo University, you must reach the minimum grade of 11, attend at least 70% of the sessions and have canceled the entire course.
