- Through the Vallejo in the Community program , 20 projects are being developed focused on improving the quality of life of people living in different vulnerable areas of Trujillo.
The heads of the Office of University Social Responsibility (RSU) of César Vallejo University, Trujillo campus, presented the results achieved in the social projects that students and teachers developed during the first academic semester of 2024.
Participation and reach
More than 1,200 students from the VII and VIII cycles of Service Learning courses, belonging to the faculties of Business Sciences, Law and Humanities, Engineering and Architecture, and Health Sciences, actively participated in these projects. These initiatives not only contribute to the professional development of the students, but also to the well-being of the communities involved.

- Allikai: Strengthening Mental Health: This initiative sought to implement mental health promotion and prevention actions for children and older adults. Intervention: Ate, Callao, Chiclayo, Chimbote, Huaraz, Los Olivos, Moyobamba, Piura, San Juan de Lurigancho, Tarapoto and Trujillo.
- Rebirth: Care and strengthening of mental health: aims to reduce mental health problems in adolescents and parents in the district of La Esperanza.
- Nutrieduca UCV: worked on reducing risk factors that affect the overall health of high school students in the district of La Esperanza.
- Moche Emprende: Weaving Development: trained residents of the Moche district in business development knowledge, providing them with the necessary tools to generate sustainable income for their homes.
- UCV Leads: From a local market to a global one, using digital marketing: it was developed in the El Milagro Population Center and promoted new strategic and digital marketing tactics to improve the positioning of businesses in the supply market.
- Educommunication to promote social skills in children: In this project, an educommunication program was implemented in a residential care center for vulnerable children in the Laredo district. The objective was to promote their comprehensive development, improve their communication skills and foster their emotional well-being.
- Financial and tax seeds in Salaverry stores: in this project, business owners in the Salaverry district strengthened their knowledge of financial and tax education.
Measurable impact
More than 4,500 people benefited from the implementation of these projects, exceeding the initial projection and demonstrating the success of community interventions. Likewise, teachers and students demonstrated their participation in the projects implemented.
Some of these initiatives will be completed in the second academic semester, while others will end in 2025.
The RSU projects that UCV Trujillo is implementing are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), articulating the lines of action of university social responsibility and the lines of research. In this way, the service-learning projects reinforce the university's commitment to sustainability and community development.
