Transnational leadership! UCV rector stands out at the III Ibero-American Convention of Rectors in Colombia

On August 27, Dr. Jeannette Tantaleán Rodríguez, rector of the César Vallejo University (UCV), had an outstanding participation in the III Ibero-American Convention of Rectors and Leaders in Sustainability and Sustainability Management, held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

 

This important event, organized by the National Open and Distance University (UNAD) of Colombia, took place at the prestigious Convention Center of that city, a space that brought together the main academic leaders and sustainability managers of the region.

 

During the convention, participants addressed key issues for the future of education and sustainability, with a special focus on hybrid education and strategies to achieve sustainable development.

 

Participation of the rector of the UCV

 

Dr. Tantaleán, recognized for her leadership in higher education in Peru, actively participated in the rector panel entitled “Transformational Leadership for the Development of Hybrid Education: Reflections from the Executive Director in Ibero-America”.

 

In her speech, the rector of the UCV highlighted the magnitude and impact of the institution she leads. “The César Vallejo University is one of the largest in Peru, with more than 190 thousand students . The UCV is characterized by offering an inclusive and innovative education , with an entrepreneurial vision, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels,” said Dr. Tantaleán.

 

Objectives of the convention

 

During the III Ibero-American Convention of Rectors and Leaders in Sustainability and Sustainability Management, the academic community's commitment to building a more sustainable future was reaffirmed, where higher education plays an essential role in the social transformation of the region.

 

The main objectives of the event include:

 

  • To exchange views and experiences of regional leaders regarding progress, successful practices and common challenges that allow for the generation of collective actions that support training processes in favor of building sustainable scenarios for Ibero-America.
  • Share problems and opportunities to implement strategic transformation actions.
  • Lay the foundations for a “Network of Networks” aimed at promoting compliance with the 2030 Agenda.

 

 

Relevance of the academic event

 

The event allowed rectors and academic leaders to share experiences and reflections on the role of universities in promoting sustainable and equitable development in Latin America. Dr. Tantaleán's participation in this prestigious meeting underlines the leading role of the UCV in educational transformation and its commitment to sustainability.

 

With this participation, César Vallejo University reaffirms its position as a leading institution in the Ibero-American academic field, committed to innovation, inclusion and sustainable development, values ??that are reflected in each of its educational initiatives.
